Bonjour!

BeretJust want to share a picture of one of the cards I made that I submitted to a PaperCrafts magazine contest.  Since I wasn’t a winner, I can now share it!  I forgot to take pictures of my card submissions, but I did make a photocopy, so the picture is from a color copy I made on a copy machine… The card was much cuter in person!

Here is how I made the card:

Supplies: SU! Cardstock (whisper white), Designer cardstock paper: Lost & Found “Madison Avenue”, Designer cardstock paper: MME “dolled up”, CTMH Bonding memories glue pen, La-La Land Crafts stamp “Beret Marci”, SU! stampin’ dimensionals, Memento tuxedo black ink pad, Copic markers, bling, SU! flower trim
Steps:
1. Make card base with white cardstock.
2. Cut chevron pattern paper to fit front cover of card and adhere.
3. Trim Eiffel tower pattern paper a bit smaller than chevron paper and adhere.
4. Stamp girl on white cardstock; emboss. Color with Copic markers. Fussy cut girl and adhere with foam dots. Attach silver bling to highlight “bonjour” and attach flower trim to hat.

that July is National Ice Cream Month?

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. In the proclamation, President Reagan called for all people of the United States to observe these events with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” This is one celebration that you don’t have to convince me to commemorate!  In observance of this fun month-long event, I pulled out my cute stamp made by Eat Cake Graphics, that I think is so appropriate for this special summer declaration.

I stamped & embossed the image, then used my Copic markers to color. I’m not sure if this will become a card or a tag, but it sure was fun to make. I hope you are all having a great summer and are beating the heat by eating some of your favorite ice cream. A Dairy Queen® peanut butter cup blizzard has been calling my name lately…

For my fellow ice cream lovers, here are a few fun facts to get the party started:
