Cheers to this New Year

It’s hard to believe that this is the first day of February! Time sure has flown by in this new year. I am posting pictures of cards and tags I have made over the past couple of months. Pictured are:

  • New Year cards using a rubber stamp titled Cherry Blossom by Saturated Canary, along with pretty Japanese paper
  • A couple of fun wine bottle tags
  • Christmas gift tags using black chalkboard paper stamped with white pigment ink and a large round scallop punch
  • Happy owl card, using Hero Arts rubber stamp titled Big Owl
  • Sweet little lamb tag, attached to a baby shower party favor

I wish I was the kind of person who makes new year resolutions so I could resolve to keeping my blog updated more often. I  will get back on track, so please stay tuned for more of my paper craft projects. Hope your 2015 is off to a fantastic start!

The good news is…I love Totally Stampalicious stamps! I am lucky enough to own several (well, maybe more) sets of these stamps.

The bad news is…they recently went out of business.

They made some fun rubber stamp sets, including this one called “Stella Wine”.

Stella-WineThis is a great stamp set for paper piecing on the wine bottle.  I thought “Stella” would be a perfect addition to a tag to hang on a bottle of wine. My intention was to give this bottle to a friend to kick-off the start of her vacation, but I didn’t manage to get it to her in time before she left on her road trip. So, it wound up being a “welcome back from your vacation” present.

To make the tag, I used a piece of patterned cardstock and my Cricut machine to cut the tag shape, using the Art Philosophy cartridge. Next, a circle was punched at the end of the tag, and a crease was made to allow that part of the tag to hang on the neck of the bottle. “Stella” was stamped on white cardstock & colored in using Copic markers. Of course she needed a little bling, so I added some rhinestones on her ears for earrings. The stamped image was trimmed and the corners were rounded using a punch. After that, I glued it to a green cardstock mat.  The sheer ribbon was tied on, pop dots added, and the piece was adhered to the tag.  I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, punched it out with a round scallop punch, and added some Stickles for a little extra sparkle. It was attached with a couple of small glue dots. Isn’t she cute?
